Trimming Out a Window

There are a lot of hidden techniques in trimming a home, and we’ll show you a big one in trimming out a window.

When you look at the finished product of a completely trimmed out window, you could easily assume that it was put together in place, one piece at a time.  This is partially true, but there is a big secret short cut when installing the window jamb (the jamb is the sides of the window trim that tie back into the frame of the window – see video).  It is really hard to make a perfectly square box around the window when installing each side of the box one piece at a time, but if you make the box first then insert it to the window, it becomes much easier.

As you’ll see, this is much easier to show to you then to try to explain to you, so let me just do that…
